Uhhh...yeah.
This was easily one of the most entertaining concerts I've ever attended, even though it's not the loudest or most high tech. The concert seemed like it lasted an hour and I was left pining for more, thanks to the fantastic breaks between songs, change of instruments, and darkness.
The 20% of the concert that wasn't on stage was impromptu and personal, especially for those who paid big bucks. They sang different songs, had fun, and experimented, even throwing in a Michael Jackson cover.
The Mexican Cell Phone Wave was effective and original, and the old school tricks with confetti, beach balls, smoke, and lasers added to the entertainment value. The venue had surprising accommodations and sound quality for an amphitheater.
The warm-up acts were among the best I've seen, selected by D.L. Hughley for good reason, and the energy from the crowd was exceptional, creating a party-like atmosphere. The feeling of being amongst close friends was evident, despite the disparity in demographics.
